May 1974. After years of professional experience and studying to hone his industry skills in a journey that started working on a hotel reception, Don José Luis Martín Lorca, a native of Málaga, started his first hotel on the Costa del Sol, called Hotel Ángela. Don José combined his management of the project with his role as CEO of Horizon, the first international tour operator in Spain.

Don José's business reputation makes Hotel Ángela a benchmark in Fuengirola, especially among foreign visitors.

To welcome at the beginning of the new century, reforms have been performed to adapt the hotel to the new demands and trends in the sector, providing yet another example of the timeless talent offered by the hotel’s team. The renovations carried out in 2001 and 2012 raised the category of the hotel to four stars.

As a result of his successful legacy, Don José was awarded the Medal of Merit in Tourism by the Spanish Government, as well as with the Top Business Person Award at the Andalusia Tourism Awards
