Mother Earth Day on the Costa del Sol: another way to travel with Hotel Ángela

Mother Earth Day on the Costa del Sol: another way to travel with Hotel Ángela

On 22nd April, International Mother Earth Day is celebrated, a moment to pause, observe and appreciate everything that makes destinations like the Costa del Sol so special: the sea, the light, the climate and the surrounding environment.
At Hotel Angela, located on Fuengirola’s seafront promenade, we understand that travelling is not only about switching off, but also about connecting with the environment in a more conscious way. Enjoying the Mediterranean can go hand in hand with responsible choices that help preserve it.
During your stay, there are simple gestures that make a difference. Using water in moderation, adjusting air conditioning according to your real needs or making proper use of the hotel’s recycling systems are small actions that contribute to a more positive impact.
In addition, more and more travellers value options that reduce the use of unnecessary materials. That is why we work to offer more sustainable alternatives in the hotel’s day-to-day operations, always maintaining comfort as a priority.
It is also important to be mindful of consumption. Enjoying each meal without generating waste is part of a more balanced way of travelling, aligned with a more responsible approach to tourism.
Choosing Fuengirola as a destination means embracing a relaxed lifestyle by the sea, with everything within easy reach. Doing so from a more conscious perspective makes the experience even more valuable.
At Hotel Angela, we continue to move in this direction, offering a stay that combines location, wellbeing and respect for the environment. This Mother Earth Day is a great opportunity to start travelling in a different way.

Welcome, Spring: Enjoy the Charm of the Costa del Sol from Hotel Ángela

Welcome, Spring: Enjoy the Charm of the Costa del Sol from Hotel Ángela

Spring has arrived on the Costa del Sol, bringing one of the most special times of the year to enjoy Fuengirola. These are the perfect months before the intense summer heat — with mild temperatures, sunny days, and the ideal opportunity to explore the city without the crowds of high season.

Spring in Fuengirola: Atmosphere, Colour and Life

With the arrival of spring, the streets of Fuengirola come alive. Terraces fill up, the seafront promenade invites you to take long walks by the sea, and the parks and gardens bloom, offering a stunning show of colours and unmistakable aromas.
Tourism at this time of year finds a perfect balance: the Costa del Sol welcomes visitors from all over the world, yet maintains enough calm to enjoy a relaxed and high-quality experience. It’s the ideal moment for those seeking vibrant surroundings without giving up peace and well-being.

Espeto Season: A Unique Taste of the Mediterranean

If there’s one iconic Malaga dish that stands out in spring, it’s the espeto. Did you know the best time to enjoy them is during the months of the year without the letter “r”? That means from May to August, sardines are at their peak in flavour and texture — making them an essential part of any Costa del Sol visit.
Just steps from Hotel Ángela, the beach bars begin lighting their grills to serve this Mediterranean delicacy in its most authentic form: cooked over a wood fire, with the sea breeze as the perfect pairing.

Experience Spring at Hotel Ángela

At Hotel Ángela, we invite you to experience this season in a privileged setting, with sea views, every comfort, and the best location to enjoy Fuengirola at its finest. If you’re looking for a getaway to disconnect, savor excellent gastronomy, and feel the essence of spring on the Costa del Sol, now is the perfect time.

Book now and discover everything this season has in store for you!

Spring is almost here

Spring is almost here

Spring is just around the corner, and its arrival always brings us joy: we are more cheerful, temperatures are on the rise, and this makes us want to spend more time outdoors, so it is the perfect season to travel.

One of the most attractive destinations to visit is undoubtedly the Costa del Sol and one of the most popular plans to do here is to enjoy the sun and beach.  Fuengirola certainly has some of the best beaches in Spain, not only for the cleanliness of its waters, but also for the quality of the sand, and for the wide variety of water and beach sports that can be practised there.

It is not only great for beach sports, but it is also the ideal destination for golf. Known as the Costa del Golf, the Costa del Sol is the perfect place to play this sport, as the province of Malaga is home to more than 70 first class golf courses where you can enjoy this exciting activity.

In addition to the good weather and the many sports that can be practised here, the Costa del Sol is one of the best places to enjoy this time of the year because of its Holy Week representations, as Malaga city is one of the cities in Spain that stands out for its impressive processions.

Are you now ready to plan your next visit to the Costa del Sol?

At Hotel Angela, your hotel in Fuengirola, we are looking forward to welcoming you with open arms.

We hope to see you very soon!

Meet our team

Meet our team

One of the most valued characteristics of our Hotel Angela in Fuengirola is the familiarity. The whole staff team is dedicated and hard working to make our guests feel like at home. The way we have selected each member of our team has differentiated our service from others.

We know you like getting to know our staff more closely, knowing what they like, their hobbies and even their family life. You like sharing with them anecdotes and special occasions with them during your holidays. This is why we have given out a questionnaire to all the staff members where they tell us a little more about their life, some hidden habits they have, they recommend places to visit and event tell us some funny stories.

Stay tuned to this blog because each month we will present one of our colleagues, even those that you do not see because they work behind the scenes, but that are also crucial for our team to be complete and balanced.

International Fair of the Towns of Fuengirola

International Fair of the Towns of Fuengirola

Are you currently enjoying a fantastic vacation with us at Hotel Angela? If so, you're in luck, as one of the most important and eagerly anticipated events of the year in Fuengirola starts tomorrow.

The event we're talking about is the Feria de los Pueblos, one of the most popular events on the Costa del Sol.

As always, the Feria de los Pueblos will take place at the Recinto Ferial de Fuengirola, this year from Tuesday, April 30th, to Sunday, May 5th.

The Recinto Ferial de Fuengirola will host a total of 33 countries from around the world, making this the perfect opportunity for you to experience typical dishes, songs, dances, and cultures from different places without leaving the Costa del Sol.

The Feria de los Pueblos in Fuengirola is undoubtedly one of the most established and successful events on the entire Costa del Sol, as evident from celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Despite having been celebrated many times before, there's always excitement and new things to discover. For instance, this year, Canada and Estonia are participating for the first time, and iconic countries like Japan and Jamaica are returning after not participating last year.

Throughout the 6 days of this festival, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 AM, the Recinto Ferial will be alive with festivities and an array of fun activities to see and do. However, the day that always garners the most anticipation is the day of the traditional parade, where all participating countries showcase their traditional costumes and incredible dances. This spectacular parade will take place on Wednesday, May 1st, a public holiday in Spain for Labor Day, and will start at 11:30 AM in the central Plaza de España, arriving at the Recinto around 1:00 PM.

Similar to previous editions, this year during the Feria de los Pueblos, there will also be a Free International Fair featuring stands where various products can be purchased, including gastronomic products from different parts of the world.

Don't miss out on the 25th edition of the Feria de los Pueblos in Fuengirola. You're sure to have a fantastic time!

Japanese Calmness & Andalusian Passion

Japanese Calmness & Andalusian Passion

Last year in March here on the blog of Hotel Angela we recommended you not to miss a fantastic exhibition called “Japan: honour and tradition” which at the time was on display in our local museum.“Japonese Calmness & Andalusian Passion”

This time we would like to recommend you something similar as from the 14th of October our local Casa de la Cultura, located in the city centre of Fuengirola, is housing another great exhibition about Japan called “Japanese Calmness & Andalusian Passion”.

This is composed by 12 pieces of big dimensions created by Japanese artists Michiko Iwakura and Yoko Usue.

The best thing about this exhibition is that it not only gives you the possibily to appreciate the pieces of art but also allows you to participate in several activities related Japan and its culture like a traditional tea ceremony or an Ikebana demonstration.

The activity scheduled for this and next week is a Japanese caligraphy workshop.

This caligraphy is known as Shodo and its demonstrations will be on Friday the 23rd and Friday the 30th at 7:00 P.M, so if you fancy learning the secrets of this Japanese art, Friday is the perfect day to visit Casa de la Cultura.

“Japenese Calmness & Andalusian Passion” will be with us until the 30th of October, so if you love art and right now you are having a nice holiday with us at Hotel Angela, your hotel in Fuengirola, we recommend you not to miss this exotic exhibition.

We are sure you will have a very nice time!

Visit Nerja

Visit Nerja

Are you planning to visit Hotel Angela in 2014? Are you willing to be more adventurous and to visit new places?

We hope the answer to both questions is yes as we love to see you back at the Angela and we also love to see you enjoying and making the most of your holiday.

This week we would like recommend you a visit to Nerja, a beautiful town in Costa del Sol very well known all over Spain thanks to a famous Spanish TV series from the 80s called “Verano Azul”.

Nerja is a touristic town but it stills keeps its typical Andalusian charm. It has beautiful beaches, good food and great weather, so it is a fantastic place to get to spend a day while on holiday at Hotel Angela.

Nerja is also famous for its stunning cave which was discovered by hazard by 5 teenagers in the late 50s. Inside the cave there are remains of cave paintings aged 42.000 years and also some impressive stalactites and stalagmites.

If you have not visited Nerja yet here from Hotel Angela we encourage you to do it as you will be able to see with your own eyes one of the many treasures that Costa del Sol hides!

The Hotel Ángela loves aquagym

The Hotel Ángela loves aquagym

Did you know that every Wednesday and Saturday from 11:00 A.M to 11:45 A.M Hotel Angela offers you some amazing aquagym classes?

Many of you have already had the pleasure of seeing and using our fabulous new infinity pool. Well, now not only you can swim and freshen up but also get fit…What do you think about this great idea?

Our new pool is so amazing that it is easy to feel tempted by it. We are aware that now that it is quite hot not many people feel like practising sports so taking this into consideration Hotel Angela has found the perfect solution as by practising aquagym you will make the most of the pool, will get fit and at the same time will have fun!

Aquagym is similar to aerobics but it is practised in water and thanks to it the effect of the exercise done is double, so it is a very effective activity.

In the last few years it has become a very popular sport as it helps us to stay fit and also makes a very positive impact on our health.

Same as in aerobics music is very important when practising aquagym, as it will help us to relax or to activate us. In water we float so the effort seems to lessen and we don’t get very tired… Aquagym sounds amazing, isn’t it?

Our aquagym classes are free of charge and also so much fun!! Don’t miss out!!

Megano, our instructor, will be with us every Wednesday and Saturday and he expects your attendance!

Enjoy it!

Let's take care of the environment

Let's take care of the environment

It´s time to think green. The Hotel Angela is already adapted to this new thought in which everyone concentrates in protecting the earth. Low-consuming lights, double glass windows, economizing water taps and the incorporation in 2009 of led lights in common areas are some of the ways this hotel at Fuengirola pretends to help.

There are many ways of taking care of the environment and one of the most important and easy to do is recycling. At our hotel we recycle anything that is recyclable:

  • Oil – from the kitchens is collected by a specialized company that then makes natural soap amongst other things.
  • Glass bottles and containers – are returned to be used again.
  • Cardboard
  • Lightbulbs
  • Batteries – at the front desk you will find a container to drop any you might have.
  • Plastic
  • Paper – from all the office work, we use both sides and then send it to recycle.
  • Water – from the air conditioning units and buffet engines used to water the garden and plants in the hotel.

All this actions are very important to keep our earth in good conditions. Just to give you an idea of the impact little gestures can have, we have measured that we recycle 2500 Liters of water every day at Hotel Angela. Don’t you think this is something we should think about seriously? Can you imagine how much we can all do together?

As part of our enthusiasm for the planet and the environment, we invite all our guests and readers to share this view and take care of the world for the generations to come. To contribute to this purpose you may help us recycle plastic, paper, cardboard, batteries…as well as offering new ideas or suggestions in our Facebook, by email or by mail.

It is all about caring and team work.
